Education plays a vital role in the future of our nature. As such, our local School Boards need to be made up of individuals who place the needs of our students and their futures before their own agenda. All too often, though, this is not the case as many School Boards are plagued by misplaced priorities, out-of-control spending, and pressures by special interests pursuing their own agenda. This is why Running for School Board was founded and is excited to announce the launch of its new website, RunningforSchoolBoard.org.
Running for School Board sits down with Joe Falcon, a member of the Bentonville Public Schools Arkansas District #6 Board of Education. In this interview Falcon talks about his background and what motivated him to run for office. He also shares the challenges of his district, his campaign strategy and the strengths and weaknesses of his campaign. Finally, Falcon outlines what he perceives as the most important issues facing education today.
Falcon was an accomplished runner and police officer before entering public service. You can read his Wikipedia entry here.
